An application to suit

With a view to further enhance its diverse offering, MaxiTRANS has welcomed Trout River Australia into its wide-ranging bulk transport application portfolio which includes Lusty EMS, Hamelex White and AZMEB.

MaxiTRANS signed an agreement late last year to acquire Australasian Machinery Sales, trading as Trout River Australia – a producer and supplier of live bottom trailers based in Hallam, south-east Melbourne.

Live bottom trailers, discharge the payload  by a conveyor belt system in the trailer floor, which makes for a great asset to freight transport businesses throughout Australia.

One of the major benefits of the acquisition is that it will add products focussed on the booming infrastructure construction sector, where demand for live bottom trailers is expected to increase in bulk product markets. In the case of Victoria, there are projections via the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources that this level of demand will exceed 100 million tonnes in bulk product per year by the year 2050.
This market-leading move to expand its trailer solution offering is a clear demonstration of MaxiTRANS’ ‘Growth in Existing Markets’ strategic initiative.

According to MaxiTRANS General Manager – Products and Markets, Kevin Manfield, the Trout River Australia acquisition is another step towards having a complimentary suite of products that collectively serve to strengthen the company’s market position by catering for the wide range of bulk transport applications.

He goes on to say that the market for trailers such as side tippers and live bottom units is often project driven with operators needing specialised equipment to meet the requirements of specific contracts.

“MaxiTRANS is committed to providing customers with safer, more reliable and efficient transport solutions,” Kevin says. “Certainly, productivity improvement is important but this needs to be balanced with the overriding need for safe operation which is always front and centre in our minds across all of our products.”

To help businesses get the most out of their equipment, Kevin says that MaxiTRANS believes in partnering to create tailored solutions which suit customer requirements in order to maximise their individual productivity, rather than ‘one-size-fits-all’ combinations that may not necessarily suit the specific task.

“We provide professional advice after we first listen and understand a business’ requirements, which allows our customers to make an informed decision about what is right for them,” he says. “It’s this approach that we believe adds real value and we find one of the reasons why more customers are turning to MaxiTRANS to develop solutions for their business.”
