The sale of Heil Trailer International is now complete. The liquid, dry-bulk and specialty trailer manufacturer was sold by the Dover Corporation and is now owned by American Industrial Partners (AIP).
Founded in 1901 and headquartered in Athens, TN, Heil Trailer International is a global company with three manufacturing facilities in North America and facilities in Thailand and Argentina.
To coincide with the close of sale, the company appointed Randall Swift as the new CEO of Heil Trailer International. Mr Swift previously worked as CEO of Allied Specialty Vehicles (ASV), a $1 billion sales manufacturer of a diverse range of specially vehicles including ambulances, terminal trucks, fire trucks and school buses. ASV is also a portfolio company of AIP.
"Heil Trailer is one of the longstanding leaders in the marketplace due in large part to the talents of its people. I look forward to working with each of them to grow and enhance Heil Trailer’s leadership position,” said Mr Swift.
In addition, Bob Foster also rejoined Heil Trailer International as Chairman of the Board. Mr Foster was President of the company for 15 years prior to his retirement in 2006. “I am very pleased to be once again part of an independent Heil Trailer,” commented Mr Foster.
