ALC announces ALC Forum 2018 details

  • Posted on Thursday 26th, October 2017.

The Australian Logistics Council (ALC) has announced that the ALC Forum will return to Royal Randwick in Sydney on 6-8 March 2018, following the success of the event in Melbourne earlier this year.

The ALC has said that ALC Forum 2018 will progress the issues put forward by ALC Members in the final submission, focusing on the freight logistics industry’s priorities and expectations for the types of infrastructure investment and policy reform required to enhance national supply chain efficiency and safety.

“ALC Forum 2018 will include discussion on issues such as CBD and urban freight delivery, the need for freight movement to be given greater consideration in planning policy, preservation of freight transport corridors and employment lands so that they are protected from urban encroachment, more freight onto rail, better use of data and new technology, and development of a forward-looking approach to road funding,” the ALC said in a statement.

The ALC has previously estimated that a 1 per cent increase in supply chain efficiency would drive a $2 billion benefit to the national economy.
