Australia Post startup bolsters e-commerce delivery

E-commerce company, eBay, will offer its merchants national fulfilment services via Australia Post–backed, Melbourne-based startup, Fulfilio.

This agreement reportedly provides eBay’s thousands of merchants with the opportunity to take advantage of Fulfilio’s national warehousing and ‘pick and pack’ fulfilment services, with “seamless” distribution into Australia Post’s unparalleled delivery network.

Fulfilio CEO and Co-Founder, Mathew Galt, said e-commerce is rapidly changing the way Australians shop, and e-commerce retailers need a logistics partner that can power their supply chain like Shopify has done for their online store.

“Consumers expect shopping to fit in with their busy lifestyles by having their goods delivered when and where they want, with greater ease and personalisation. Online retailers will need to lift the bar to compete with global players who already do this very well,” said Galt.

“Fulfilio, through our national warehouse network, serious tech smarts and customised pick and pack solutions, is ready to power Australian eCommerce businesses of all sizes to a whole new level,” he said.

“At eBay our number one priority is to support the 40,000 Australian businesses that operate via eBay,” said eBay Senior Director of Product and Shipping, David Ramadge.

“In this partnership with Fulfilio and Australia Post we are giving our sellers Australia’s most comprehensive fulfilment network with over 57,000 square metres of storage and distribution space across the country,” he said.

“We’re committed to helping Australian businesses take advantage of the benefits of e-commerce,” said Australia Post General Manager – Parcel and Express, Ben Franzi.

“As Australian consumers become more savvy online shoppers, we’re seeing the demand for more greater value, convenience and speed of delivery. Online retailers will need to lift the bar to compete with global players who already do this very well.

“Fulfilio – a start-up backed by Australia Post – is ready to power Australian eCommerce businesses of all sizes to a whole new level with faster fulfilment options through our national warehouse network, customised pick and pack solutions and direct lodgement into Australia Post’s unrivalled delivery network,” he said.
