National trailer manufacturer, and third-generation business, Barker Trailers, has celebrated 25 years of successful partnership with Brown and Hurley.

Barker Trailers hosted an evening dedicated to commemorating the milestone on 10 May at South Wharf, Melbourne, in conjunction with inaugural supply chain expo, MEGATRANS2018.

The Brown and Hurley Group was established in 1946 when Jack Hurley and Alan Brown returned from the war. Their first business was a bicycle shop with a workshop and petrol bowsers and since then, has evolved into an award-winning dealer of new and used commercial trucks and trailers with nine branches across northern New South Wales and Queensland.

“The Brown and Hurley partnership reinforces the essence of Barker history, being that of family business with passion for providing customers with quality and efficient products and support,” said Barker Trailers General Manager – Sales and Marketing, Rod Cunningham.

“There is a real correlation and understanding between the businesses, that seems to resonate well with customers who we are both deeply committed to.

“We have enjoyed our partnership thus far and look forward to working together in the future for continued success,” he said.

“The Barker and Brown and Hurley relationship was formed with a handshake back in the early days,” said Brown and Hurley Manager – Trailer Division, Dylan Hurley.

“Both companies are two great family businesses that came together having very similar business values.

"Our companies are both built on foundations providing customers reliable transport solutions with great product support after the sale, and we too look forward to building our relationship with Barker over the next 25 years,” he said.

“We are delighted with the 25-year relationship with Brown and Hurley and look forward to sharing our experience and relationship with the industry for the next 25,” said Barker Trailers CEO, Simon Meadows.
