Centurion wins safety accolade

  • Posted on Thursday 11th, October 2018.

Transport and logistics operator, Centurion, was announced as the winner of the ‘Best Solution of a WHS Risk’ category in the 2018 National Safety Awards of Excellence.

The event was held by the National Safety council of Australia, and the accolade was presented to Centurion for developing a safer and more efficient tyre trailer that significantly reduces the risk to loaders and members of the public.

“It’s a great example of how the business looks to re-engineer and improve equipment to keep its workforce and the people we come into contact with safe,” Centurion said in a statement.

Centurion General Manager – HSEQ, Luke Beeston, accepted the award on behalf of the company at the awards ceremony in Sydney yesterday.

Keynote speaker, Professor Nikki Ellis, also gave a special mention of Centurion’s road safety campaign to make caravanners and road users more aware of how to behave and what to expect when interacting with road trains. The campaign was a finalist in the 'Best Communication of a Safety Message' category.

Last month, Centurion CEO, Justin Cardaci, was presented with Woolworths’ ‘Large Carrier of the Year 2018’ award.
