CIMC extends partnership with ATA

CIMC Vehicle Australia will continue to support the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) for the next five years, the company announced.

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with CIMC,” ATA CEO, Chris Melham told CRTNews during the official hand-over at CIMC’s Laverton facility in Victoria this week.

“CIMC is a progressive company that is totally committed and dedicated to helping the Australian commercial road transport industry move forward, so we think it’s an ideal combination and we’re delighted to have their support once more.”

Melham, along with ATA Chair, Noelene Watson, and Director of Thompson’s Transport, Scott Thompson, attended the hand-over of CIMC’s flat deck B-double curtain-sider, which Thompson’s won at the ATA’s auction night held in March.

Designed and manufactured by CIMC, the ‘higher aperture’ flat deck B-double curtain-sider includes an 11.35m lead, which can accommodate 12 pallets, and a 13.5m rear trailer, good for 22 pallets. The B-double also boasts a height of 4.3 metres and a width of 2.5 metres. The curtains feature ATA and CIMC logos, as well as all OEM sponsors that helped in the design.

“CIMC Vehicle Australia is proud to continue its support of the ATA and the trucking industry, and we look forward to building more trailers for such a great cause,” said Wayne Jones of CIMC Vehicle Australia.
