Third-party logistics company, Linfox, has announced that Doug Fryer will be joining Linfox Logistics as President Government and Defence.

According to Linfox, Fryer currently holds the high profile role of Assistant Commissioner Road Policing Command for Victoria Police. He is an experienced leader and is respected for his vision and capable delivery of programs to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of police operations and increase the safety of Victorians.

“Doug brings strong organisational leadership, in-depth understanding of the workings of government and is held in high regard at federal and state levels,” said Linfox CEO ANZ, Mark Mazurek. “I look forward to working with Doug to continue delivering strong customer service in our Government and Defence business unit.”

The appointment of Fryer follows the decision by Major General Mick Slater AO, DSC, CSC (Ret) to leave Linfox having served as President Government and Defence since 2015.

“I would like to thank and farewell Mick Slater,” said Mazurek. “Mick has been part of the Linfox Executive Leadership Team since 2015 and has successfully led the Government and Defence business unit during this time.  Mick’s high standards have been a hallmark of his time with Linfox and I wish him well in the future.”

Fryer will join the Linfox Logistics Executive Leadership Team on 24 August and will be based in Melbourne.

Last month, Linfox welcomed Mick Cronin as the new President Retail for Australia and New Zealand.
