Drake launches innovative deck widening tilt slide

  • Posted on Thursday 2nd, March 2017.

Betts Bower has expanded its fleet with a new quad axle Deck Widening Tilt Slide from Drake Trailers.

According to Drake, the quad-axle Deck Widening Tilt Slide was fitted with two self-tracking axles at the rear of the trailer.

Drake’s new axle Deck Widening Tilt Slide can be built with air or hydraulic suspension, and features two radio remote-controlled 13.5 tonne winches on the bottom deck, and an additional nine tonne winch inside the top deck gooseneck.

"Our operation is primarily based around the mining industry, picking up equipment from sites in the Hunter Valley and transporting them to OEMs for maintenance or repairs,” said Daniel Bower of Betts Bower Haulage Group.

“We're constantly dealing with non-standard size cargo, and Drake is very accommodating to our custom requests for trailers with the ability to high-jack and extend, which is essential for some bulky, heavy and awkward equipment.”

The Betts Bower order also included a B-double combination from Drake Group subsidiary company, O'Phee Trailers.

The complete feature appears in upcoming edition of Trailer.
