"We are seeing volumes growing at 30-40 per cent per year," Petroccitto said.

"Truck and dogs are a great example, with PBS-approved dog trailers representing more than 90 per cent of all new dog trailers."

According to the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) Performance-Based Standards (PBS) approved vehicles make up an estimated 20-25 per cent of all new vehicles currently registered in Australia.

Further details on Australia's PBS scheme will be available in the December editions of Prime Mover magazine and Trailer Magazine.
