Extended warranties offered on BPW components

  • Posted on Thursday 13th, June 2019.

Prominent trailer axle and suspension supplier, BPW Transpec, has announced extensions to its existing warranty coverage for a comprehensive range of products installed in vehicles that operate on-road only.

The new warranties are conditional to the vehicle receiving its first service at 5,000km. This can be done either by BPW Transpec as a Complimentary First Service or a service provider accredited by BPW Transpec.
The other criterion is that the vehicle must be serviced and maintained in accordance with the maintenance schedule as published in the BPW Operator’s Manual.

The warranty periods on the products indicated below will double from 12 months to a period of two years from the date of the vehicle’s first registration, or 500,000km – whichever occurs first.

These products include brake drums, discs and calipers, S-cam shafts, airbags, shock absorbers, pivot bushes and trailing arms (springs).

Slack adjusters fitted to vehicles primarily engaged in linehaul operation will also be warranted for two years or 500,000km, while those on vehicles operating in metropolitan traffic will retain the 12-month unlimited kilometre warranty.

Meanwhile, a number of additional components have received the three-year/one-million kilometre warranty initially set for ECO Plus 3 axle parts including wheel bearings, hubs, seals and axle nuts.

The three-year warranty now applies also to suspension spring pads, axle beams and hangers, subject to correct installation as per BPW recommendations.

The new terms apply to new vehicles only.
