K&S Corporation receives new custom chemical tankers

  • Posted on Thursday 3rd, August 2017.

Tanker specialist Marshall Lethlean, part of the CIMC Vehicle Group, has designed and delivered a new series of stainless steel chemical road trailers to national transport company, K&S Corporation.

K&S Chemtrans, carrier of dangerous goods and other bulk materials, took delivery of eight tri-axle stainless steel tanks and four tri-axle dollies in June from Marshall Lethlean. Each road train combination has a total capacity of 64,000 litres with 9,200 litres in the lead, 16,800 litres in the follower and 19,000 litres in each of the two tags.

Marshall Lethlean said that K&S Chemtrans requested the custom design, which features a ringless, 6mm-thick stainless barrel design that helps save on tare weight.

“The stainless steel BAA Quad Road Train for Chemtrans is a shining example of Marshall Lethlean’s considered approach to custom designing and delivering high quality, performance-based tankers,” said Marshall Lethlean.

“Our outstanding automated welding processes distinguish Marshall Lethlean from all other tanker builders, and give customers like K&S Chemtrans the peace of mind that our manufacturing capabilities are second to none.”

Marshall Lethlean had three types of tankers on display at the Brisbane Truck Show and delivered custom fuel tankers to a fuel distributor earlier this year.
