Linfox to support Indigenous community

  • Posted on Wednesday 21st, August 2013.

Transport and logistics giant Linfox has joined the ‘Boots for Kids’ program, which will raise money to support remote Indigenous communities throughout Australia.

The program, in conjunction with Coles and Melbourne’s The Age newspaper, was recently launched by former Olympian Cathy Freeman and AFL star Shaun Burgoyne at a Coles supermarket, where collection boxes are on display for Victorian families to donate their kids’ footy boots for Indigenous children who often play with none.

“Linfox is managing the logistics side of the program with Coles. Our trucks will pick up the donated boots and deliver them to Indigenous communities,” said Steve Batsakis, Linfox National Retail Manager.

“We are also putting some donation boxes at Linfox sites to give our Victorian based team the chance to support this great initiative and be part of helping Indigenous kids further develop their love of football.”

According to Batsakis, the Linfox team will collect donations each week from over 200 Coles stores in Victoria as part of Linfox’s role in the program.
