Monadelphous awarded $110M in contracts

Perth-based engineering group, Monadelphous, has secured construction and maintenance contracts in the resources and energy sectors with a combined value of approximately $110 million.

In Western Australia, Monadelphous is contracted by BHP to upgrade conveyor equipment, power switching and stackers by Q3 2020 at Mining Area C iron ore mine site in the Pilbara region.

The engineering group will also provide services associated with the demolition and rehabilitation of a number of end-of-life facilities at Nelson Point, Port Hedland. This contract is expected to commence in January 2020 and will be completed Q3 2020.

Monadelphous has also secured a 12-month extension to an existing contract with Nickel West for the provision of
maintenance, shutdowns and offsite repair services at Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter.

Finally, Monadelphous has also been awarded a contract with thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (Australia) for the construction of a reclaimer and two stackers at BHP’s South Flank Project in the Pilbara. The work is expected to provide approximately 70 employment opportunities and be completed Q1 2021.

In Queensland, the company has secured a three-year contract for the provision of general mechanical and maintenance services as part of Incitec Pivot’s scheduled turnarounds for its Queensland manufacturing facilities.

In other news, last year, a Monadelphous joint venture secured a $100M Talison Lithium contract.
