Logistics company, Northline, has announced that its new $23 million Adelaide depot is nearly complete just nine months since work began.
Construction of the 10,440m2 state-of-the-art transport and logistics facility created employment for more than 100 people.
The depot is located adjacent to the railhead at 20 Gallipoli Drive, Regency Park, allowing Northline direct access to the railyard, alleviating the need for containers to travel by road to and from the railhead facility.
It features a 6,500m2 transport shed, 3,500m2 of warehousing space with modern high bay racking, along with a 440m2 wash bay and container servicing area.
The depot has also been designed to be a Quarantined Approved Premises (QAP), and therefore customs compliant, while its high levels of security means that Northline will also apply to use the facility as a bonded warehouse.
Northline Chief Executive, Craige Whitton, said investing in new state-of-the-art facilities is an investment in the capacity and capability to better serve its customers.
“The new facilities are integral to offering customers a fully integrated national multimodal transport, warehousing and distribution network,” said Whitton.
The Adelaide depot has a move-in date of May 15, 2017.
