Logistics division, Qube Energy, has won a three-year tender to house a new supply base in Portland, Victoria, which will reportedly operate land-based and marine logistics services for oil and gas company, Cooper Energy.

Qube Energy said in a statement that it has been in the process of recruiting a team and acquiring machinery and has now officially opened the new supply base.

“Qube Energy is delighted to have won this contract as it cements Qube's position as a global logistics provider to Tier 1 oil and gas organisations throughout Australia and South East Asia,” said Qube Energy.

With the addition of the new supply base, Qube Energy has reported it now has the unique capacity to provide oil and gas logistics support in both the Gippsland and Otway basins with supply base operations at Barry Beach, Victoria Dock and now Portland.

"We are both delighted and excited to welcome the new Portland Supply base team,” said Qube Energy General Manager, Dan Steel.

“After a long process of tendering, we are pleased to be working with Cooper Energy on this project and look forward to success in this new operation,” he said.

Last month, Qube announced a solid financial performance for the six months to 31 December 2018 with a return to underlying earnings per share growth.
