Redarc announces changes to its distribution model

  • Posted on Wednesday 1st, August 2018.

South Australia-based electronics company Redarc has announced it will split its distribution model into specific market channels as it adapts to a disruptive retail environment.

As part of the new changes effective 1 August Redarc will appoint online resellers when dealing directly with the online channel. Authorised sellers must meet certain criteria in order to become an authorised online reseller. These include procedures to maintain product integrity, support for end consumers around the country and a commitment to upholding Redarc’s brand values.

The company also announced it would further support the auto electrical trade by extending its training programs.

Current wholesale distributors will be required to sell into the ‘Trade Supply and Fit’ channel and cease selling products to businesses that are primarily reselling via a 3rd party online store.

Redarc has invested heavily in upgrades to its manufacturing facility in Lonsdale, South Australia. Completion is scheduled for November.

“We will also continue to heavily promote to the end consumer via our branding and marketing activities to drive consumer demand for REDARC products to your door,” Redarc said in a statement.

“These changes to our market channels have not been taken lightly and we have spent significant time in ensuring that any transition will be as smooth as possible.”

Last month, Redarc received the ‘Exporter of the Year’ award at the 15th annual Endeavour Awards.
