Advanced manufacturer, Redarc Electronics, is widely recognised for its world-class range of heavy vehicle electronic products, and this year will be celebrating a very special milestone – its 40th year.

For 40 years, Redarc has been researching, designing, developing and manufacturing a range of electronic voltage converters, inverters, power supplies, battery chargers, brake controllers and trailer braking products.
Redarc was founded in August of 1979 by electronics engineer, Robin (Bob) William Mackie in South Australia. Bob started the business by designing and manufacturing vehicle ignition systems and voltage converters.

This provided the technology for a mix of European and American trucks needing to convert incompatible voltages to the Australian truck standard of 12 volts. In fact, that is where the name came from; the spark developed in the first ignition system having a ‘red arc’.

Redarc’s roots have stemmed from having strong relationships with truck, trailer and bus manufacturer’s including Kenworth, Volvo, Iveco, DAF, Scania, Mercedes, MAN and UD which means that Redarc is always engaged with evolving technology in the heavy vehicle industry.

The full suite of Redarc products is not only trusted and proven to withstand the harshest conditions and environments, they come with comprehensive warranty terms and customer support service to ensure that their customers understand the true value of supporting and purchasing from an Australian manufacturer.

“The heavy-vehicle segment has been a priority for us, and the past 40 years has seen Redarc work closely with a variety of original equipment manufacturers,” said Redarc Managing Director, Anthony Kittel. “As a result, our business has forged a new path that has been built with these trucking partnerships in mind.”

Redarc is committed to doing things right the first time. Its knowledge of Australian conditions is engineered into every product. As well as real-world testing over Australian terrain, Redarc uses its new state-of-the-art testing and validation equipment to conduct accelerated lifetime and environmental testing.

Redarc’s deep market knowledge in the domains of mobile power management as well as its highly integrated product development process ensures that Redarc’s products realise market success.

In an increasingly commoditised global economy, Redarc believes that “made in Australia” can be a point of competitive advantage, by building products that are both uncompromising in their practicality and virtually fail-safe in their reliability.

The increased awareness of the Redarc brand has seen demand for its products grow around the world, with key distributors and resellers available in locations such as New Zealand, United Kingdom, North America, France, Germany and the Middle East.

With 40 years of expert manufacturing skill, knowledge and experience, Redarc will continue to pave the way for growth locally and internationally by striving to ensure that their products and services are the benchmark by which the competition is measured.

Redarc will have key experts on hand at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show. On display will be Redarc’s full range of products including their new range of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) DC-DC chargers (LFP2420/LV), DC-DC battery chargers, voltage converters and safety products such as our Roll Over Sensor and Battery Master Isolation Switch.

Also available will be the updated Redarc Auto-Electrical Components Catalogue which features over 90 pages of extensive information about Redarc’s extensive product range.

Redarc is exhibiting at booth 298 in the Plaza Ballroom.
