Roz Shaw to address VTA Annual Women’s Lunch

  • Posted on Tuesday 2nd, April 2019.

The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) is thrilled to have Roz Shaw – one of the most successful and accomplished individuals in transport – present as guest speaker at the VTA Annual Women’s Lunch on Friday 12 April.

Shaw has worked her way through the family Hawkins Road Transport business greasing wheel bearings, driving forklifts, loading freight, driving B-doubles and at the age of 31 took responsibility as CEO.

Under her leadership, Shaw grew the business to become a leading refrigerated, fuel and general freight transport carrier with close to 200 staff and turnover of over $80 million.

“Like many working women, Roz attained her many successes and achievements whilst raising a family,” the VTA said in a statement. “Hers is a story that should resonate with every transport worker – irrespective of gender – because it’s a fantastic example of what is possible when you remain focussed and strive to attain personal and professional goals.”

Shaw was recently appointed National Head of Transport for insurance brokers Gallagher’s, a position that allows her to apply skills from her 30-year career in transport operations to a new and different role.

Shadow Victorian Minister for Ports, Freight and Rural Roads, Roma Britnell, and TWUSUPER Risk & Compliance Manager, Maria Bande, will join Shaw at the Lunch.

The Annual Women’s Lunch is being held at the picturesque Encore St Kilda Beach, and is said to be a great opportunity to hear from inspirational people and meet and network with fellow members and guests.
