Toll announces excellence award winners

  • Posted on Friday 11th, May 2018.

Transport and logistics company, Toll Group, has recognised individuals who have displayed the hallmarks of true excellence throughout 2017, and teams that have gone above and beyond in delivering performance.

This year, the awards recognise three “stellar” individuals: XingJai Tian in Global Logistics China for creating value for customers and improving our business, forklift operator Jason Vellis in Altona North’s Global Express for designing a safety device on his own time that is being rolled out across Express sites; and driver Dale Blindell in Tasmania’a Global Express for delivering urgent blood to a premature baby in intensive care, even though his shift was over.

The three teams recognised for the 2017 Toll Excellence Awards were Kewdale Mining’s Global Logistics, Energy Marine Global Logistics at Broome Supply Base, and Global Forwarding in Vietnam.

Toll Chief Human Resources, Lesley Staples, told digital publication, Toll Today, that the awards are a chance to showcase the great talents at Toll and to remind everyone to strive for the highest standards.

“Toll is full of stars and I think it’s important for everyone who works her to see that they are noticed, appreciated and thanks,” said Staples.

This year’s winners will reportedly receive a personal letter from Toll Managing Director, Michael Byrne, and will be treated to dinner Byrne as he travels across sites in 2018.
