Toxfree wins Innovation Award

  • Posted on Friday 1st, August 2014.

Waste management company, Toxfree, has been recognised as an ABA100 Winner for Innovation as part of the 2014 Australian Business Awards.

Toxfree won the title for its i-Watch Surveillance system, which utilises a specially adapted high definition digital video camera with Wi-Fi capability to monitor the movements of operators within confined spaces. The camera can also be mounted to something so the operator doesn’t need to enter the confined space.

“At Toxfree, our values are safe, reliable and sustainable and our safety innovation, i-Watch Safety Surveillance, is a relatively simple innovation that was developed in the field by our industrial service operators,” said Toxfree Managing Director, Steve Gostlow.

“This award just goes to show you that improving safety in the workplace is not necessarily about how much money you spend.

“It’s about creating a culture of where every employee has the confidence to make suggestions to improve safety in the workplace.”

The Australian Business Awards are a national, all-encompassing awards program honouring Australia’s business, innovation and technology leaders through the recognition of their ground-breaking vision, innovative products and exemplary execution of projects, technologies, service, programs, systems and other initiatives.
