Transport Women Australia Limited (TWAL) celebrated its 20-year anniversary with a gala dinner held at The Windsor Hotel Melbourne on 16 November.

Among the almost 200 guests were five of the original founding directors and all previous chairs.

During the evening, the TWAL group unveiled a new logo and announced the Driving the Difference scholarship winners. TWAL and partner, Daimler Truck and Bus Australia Pacific, offered these scholarships.

The winners were Katie Hannifey of Dubbo, New South Wales, studying a Diploma of Logistics, Kerri Connors from Eugenana, Tasmania, studying a Cert IV in Training and Assessment, Manjusha Vanarla of Dandenong, Victoria, studying Introduction to CREO Parametric Training and Sarah O’Brien from Wynnum West, Queensland, studying a Diploma in Logistics Management.

“These four were chosen from a large list of applicants and it was a very difficult decision to choose the final four,” said TWAL Chair, Jacquelene Brotherton.

The Inaugural Trish Pickering Memorial Award sponsored by Wes Pickering to honour his late wife, was also presented at the dinner. The recipient of this inaugural award was long serving TWAL director, two times chair and immediate past chair, Pam McMillan.

The Board also recognised the outstanding commitment of Oxford Cold Storage to TWAL with a presentation to Paul Fleiszig, a director of the Oxford Logistics Group.
