VicRoads announces superload movement

  • Posted on Monday 5th, August 2019.

A 370-tonne superload will be travelling from the Wilson Transformer Company in Glen Waverley to Dundonnell in Western Victoria from 10pm 7 August to 8am 11 August according to VicRoads.

The load is reported to be travelling in stages across four days and nights to minimise disruptions.

The transport vehicle is over 370 tonnes and over 80 metres long, which according to VicRoads, means it must travel at 25km/h. Also, the vehicle cannot be overtaken as it will take up the entire width of the road at over five metres in width.

The planned route for the superload is subject to change.

Due to the size of the superload, VicRoads has advised that there are no designated viewing opportunities available for this move due to safety. VicRoads asks pedestrians, cyclists and motorists to stay clear of the superload while in transit.

Earlier this year, in March, VicRoads detailed two superload activities.
