Considering David’s vast experience in the global transport industry, he has left behind the student status long ago. In fact, providing solutions for transport problems has become his new mission. “There is still a lot of potential to reduce both damage and overall running costs and improve capacity in the area of load restraint,” he says. “And Allsafe Jungfalk can offer the experience and technology to tap that potential.”
According to David, the core qualities characterising the German “boutique” brand are customer orientation, solution-oriented thinking, efficient quality management and, last but not least, an ambitious vision. “It is our mission to always be a step ahead,” he says. “For instance, we just launched a new product range of load restraint equipment that can make a real difference in the local market.”
Nicknamed Faktor 4, Allsafe Jungfalk’s new range promises four times the restraint, four times the convenience and four times the versatility – “and they allow you to work four times faster,” David adds. “All Faktor 4 products are based on the physical principle of positive locking, which means that the load is completely restrained in its position and there is no room for any movement. It does not get much more secure than this.”
Designed to provide speed of use, versatility, convenience and, of course, restraint, Faktor 4 has just reached Australia’s shore. “First of all, it does not take long to position Faktor 4 products correctly and precisely – all you have to do is set the length and attach, insert and lock the product – job done,” David explains. “In addition, all our products are available for all lengths and connection variaties imaginable and therefore open up a wealth of possible applications. They are as versatile as the freight itself – and deliver the best solution to meet your daily requirements.”
According to David, the new range can be operated easily and intuitively, “making load restraint a task you are comfortable with. In addition with a proven blocking capacity, our system gives you peace of mind all the way between loading and unloading.
“The KIM range, for instance, includes shoring bars which offer restraint solutions for all vehicle sizes, from delivery vans to B-double combinations. It can be used both horizontally and vertically, meeting all challenges of modern supply chain management.”
According to David, the ability to restrain palletised cargo horizontally and roll cages vertically is not only “a great innovation, but also makes sense from an economical point of view as it enables operators to carry a combination of both types of cargo with the same shoring bar.
“In addition, there is no more guesswork to estimate what is required to safely restrain a load. The Kim range is the first system to reveal actual data about the blocking capacity value (BC) for the length that the bar is adjusted. Four times the BC corresponds to the maximum permissible load.” The KIM range can offer a BC range of 300 kg (1.2t max.) up to 650 kg (2.6t max) for aft load restraint and is available to fit either the aircraft-style AJ-track or the standard transport industry F-track.
The PAT series, meanwhile, is a patented shoring board system with a blocking capacity of 1000kg, based on a high-strength aluminium profile. “Developed for attaching between two solid panels or beams, it is ideal for small box trailers or drop side work vehicles,” says David. “It is lightweight and strong, adjustable, and, most importantly, requires no track. It also prevents a cargo strap from pulling the sides in on the load.”
