All under one roof

The future is looking especially bright for Alltruck Bodies. One trend at the moment for many modern fleets, according to Managing Director, Tony Romano, is their investment in pig and dog trailers. To meet and exceed customer expectations, Tony has committed to establishing a one-stop shop of sorts – focusing on onsite production innovations that will streamline pig and dog trailer manufacturing lead times from approximately 6-15 weeks to just 5-6 weeks, depending on the specification.

“The rigid bodies as well as the pig and dog trailers that Alltruck Bodies produces are tailored for specific fleet requirements,” Tony says. “There are many quality suspension options available; our engineers conduct a weight analysis from the ground up to calibrate the ride height to ensure equipment suitability, and of course, a long service life.”

Tony says all trailer builds are fitted with Knorr-Bremse Electronic Braking Systems (EBS) as standard. “Our team program the brake kits. It’s a no brainer following mandatory regulations and ensuring optimal safety on the roads. It’s a fantastic system.”

The couplings that Alltruck Bodies fits are generally Ringfeder or Bartlett ball.

By taking control of the manufacturing processes, Alltruck Bodies can perform thorough quality assurance (QA) checks on complete builds. Tony says there are no issues with compatibility of parts – an issue that can occur when dealing with third parties.

“QA checks also include wheel alignments, and in-line quality controls at every step of manufacturing.”

Laminex – a long-term business partner of Alltruck Bodies since 1993 – has been providing quality Australian made products to the commercial joinery and cabinet making industry for more than 65 years and is a recognised brand synonymous with surface solution products. As part of its service offering, Laminex run a fleet of 138 trucks to handle customer deliveries to over 2,350 customers daily.

Frank Fleming, Laminex National Operations Manager – Supply Chain, says the business has invested heavily in the design and reliability of its fleet to satisfy the needs of its customers.

“To achieve this and to ensure Laminex provides its drivers with the safest piece of kit possible Laminex has held a longstanding partnership with Alltruck Bodies,” he says.

Each year, according to Frank, Laminex modernises its fleet by replacing the oldest fleet assets – the oldest being seven-plus years – and liaises with Alltruck Bodies to update truck design specifications to include the latest efficiency and safety features.

“In the past two years Laminex has taken delivery of 52 new Isuzu rigid vehicles (12-tonne carry capacity) that all feature 28’ long Tautliner bodies with automatic load restraints, load stabiliser pins and 360-degree camera vision,” Frank says.

Also, to help with a new service model Laminex recently specified 12 Tautliner pig trailers (16’ in length, 10-tonne carry capacity) from Alltruck Bodies to compliment the new Laminex fleet which all have the same design and safety features of the rigids themselves.

As Frank would put it: “it’s been a long road for the trucking industry to catch up with the world of technology however working with Tony and his team at Alltruck Bodies on our journey we have been able to incorporate best in class design to our fleet while getting a quality and reliable product along the way”.

Rapid Liner
The latest product development to emerge from Alltruck Bodies is the new ‘Rapid Liner’ series of curtain-side rigid truck bodies.
Central to this innovative design is a unique European-developed curtain system touted as revolutionary for the beverage delivery sector in Australia.

GRATERgate
Alltruck Bodies’ GRATERgate has been developed to enable quicker, safer and easier loading and unloading of pallets. The system features single handed operation hinged gates at pallet intervals, for straight pallet loading, plus quick release sliding side posts that can be moved for wide load full access with ease.
