Pakenham-based country freight specialist, Asixa, has won two industry awards for its humanitarian efforts and commitment to professional development.
The organisation received the Humanitarian or Defence Transport and/or Logistics Award at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s (CILT) Annual Awards for Excellence, honoring its contribution to the Victorian Government’s Charity Freight Service.
The service is a multi-million dollar initiative providing a distribution pool for more than 16 major charity groups supporting people in need all over the stat – including the Salvation Army, Red Cross, St Vincent De Paul Society Victoria and Foodbank Victoria.
Asixa also received the Australian Transport & Logistics Investment in People Award at the Australian Freight Industry Awards, for its company-wide approach to training and people development.
The organisation was recognised as a leader in the freight and logistics industry for retaining dedicated and talented professionals while ensuring a “sustainable leadership outlook” for the future.
Asixa CEO, Simone Turner, said the two awards recognised the organisation’s commitment to both the industry and its people. “We have always believed that Asixa is not just a logistics business, but also a people’s business.
“Our hard working, loyal and talented team are the cornerstone of the organisation, and have driven our business onwards and upwards.”
Ms Turner also acknowledged Asixa’s support of the Charity Freight Service. “Whether it is transporting donated furniture for the Salvation Army or fresh food for Foodbank Victoria, it is pleasing to know that every consignment we carry for the Charity Freight Service is going to have a positive impact on Victorians.”
