Australian automotive and logistics company, Automotive Holdings Group, has appointed Tony Kerr as Executive General Manager of its Victorian-based subsidiaries Genuine Truck Bodies as well as Vehicle Storage and Engineering Solutions.
Tony joins GTB/VSE after five years as General Manager, Sales and Marketing, at Volgren, the nation’s biggest bus manufacturer. He has previously had extensive transport industry experience as a senior executive at TNT, Scania and Skilled Group.
GTB manufactures and modifies a wide range of latest technology rigid truck bodies and trailers, while VSE offers logistics, high security storage and delivery services for car and truck dealerships and transport companies.
“Tony’s appointment and background will add value to the existing business units and will allow us to continue to focus on laying an excellent foundation for future profitable growth,” said AHG Managing Director Bronte Howson.
Tony Kerr said the decision to join AHG was simple.
“The opportunity to work for a division of an ASX200 business which has invested to create a diversified offering to the truck industry is a great challenge,” he said.
“GTB has developed an industry-leading trailer product to complement the existing rigid body capabilities that have been supported for the last two years with extensive Research and Development and customer input.”
VSE has laid a solid foundation as we continue to look for opportunities to assist the market with vehicle movements, storage, wheel base modification and lazy axle fitments.
“I believe both businesses have a lot to offer to the Australian truck industry in supply, manufacturing, engineering and logistics. We have the latest technologies, a highly-trained workforce, modern facilities and innovative new products at a one-stop location, offering the truck market place business solutions to meet specific customer requirements,” Tony said.
