This year, Australia’s largest and most influential supply chain and logistics trade show, MegaTrans, returns bigger than ever.
Scheduled to take place from 16-17 September at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, the event will once again shine a spotlight on the Sustainable Supply Chain of the Future – attracting key players across freight, logistics, warehouse operations, transport technology, infrastructure and more.
With freight volumes projected to grow by 26 per cent over the next 30 years, the need to adopt advanced technologies and smarter infrastructure has never been more urgent. MegaTrans will therefore provide a unique platform for attendees to explore the innovations, equipment and services that will shape the future of logistics.
The interactive expo is curated exclusively for companies at the forefront of supply chain sustainability. Showcasing cutting-edge solutions that drive efficiency, reduce environmental impact and support a resilient freight network, MegaTrans is grouped by their contributions to the sustainable supply chain.
This year, MegaTrans will be launching its brand-new Operator Hub – presented by Geotab – a dedicated space for fleet managers, transport companies and owner-operators which showcases the people and businesses that keep freight moving across the country.
Some of Australia’s largest transport operators including Amazon, DP World, SGS Logistics, Centurion, Cold Xpress and FBT Transwest will take over a dedicated space on the show floor, bringing their teams along to meet, chat and share real-world insights with attendees. Some will also be stepping onto the conference stage to share their stories, challenges and lessons from the road.
Returning to this year’s MegaTrans and making its debut in the Operator Hub is TFMXpress, a national express road transport provider for parcels, cartons and bulk pallets which was built on reliability, efficiency and a very hands-on understanding of the industry.
Operating across key service lanes all around Australia, TFMXpress has grown by focusing on consistent service delivery and strong customer relationships. As it continues to scale, the business is now expanding its depot network and strengthening its national footprint – using MegaTrans as a tool to do so.
TFMXpress Chief Executive Officer, Frank Ainalis, says he is looking forward to participating in this year’s event due to the nature of MegaTrans.
“MegaTrans is a key industry platform which brings together operators, technology providers and decision makers in a way that genuinely drives progress,” he says. “It has a significant impact on the industry because it helps accelerate change and create momentum. Ideas are shared, partnerships are formed and the industry moves forward faster as a result.”
MegaTrans provides several opportunities for transport businesses looking to make an impact. Frank says it will allow TFMXpress to gain visibility, access to new opportunities and a chance to benchmark itself against the broader market.
“It’s about building the right relationships and continuing to position TFMXpress as a trusted national operator,” he says. “At the same time, we’re looking to learn – particularly around emerging technology and innovation in the sector. For a growing business like ours, it also supports our expansion as we continue to build out our service lanes and infrastructure nationally.”
Frank says the Operator Hub was a major factor which led to TFMXpress deciding to participate.
“We see the Operator Hub as a place where real operators come together to share practical insight,” he says. “That aligns with our approach. We’re focused on outcomes, not theory, so it’s a natural fit for us to be part of that environment.
“We’re also looking forward to the event’s focus on the increasing role of technology in transport. There’s a real shift toward smarter, more efficient operations, and it’s exciting to see how quickly that’s evolving. We’ve attended MegaTrans in the past and we think it’s a high-value event that is well-attended, well-run and full of meaningful conversations that often lead to real outcomes.”
TFMXpress is now in the middle of a strong growth phase with various investments in trucks, equipment, technology, IT systems and people in place to improve efficiency and deliver better outcomes. Frank believes MegaTrans will contribute to this expansion significantly.
“MegaTrans provides a great platform to be part of that broader industry evolution,” he says. “It’s an opportunity I would recommend to others.
“If you want to stay relevant and competitive in this industry, MegaTrans is an important event to be part of. The connections and insights you gain are significant.”
This year, the VTA’s Alternative Fuels Summit will be co-located with MegaTrans. The Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Association will also be running a dedicated conference on the show floor. Free registrations for MegaTrans are now available at megatrans.com.au/attend/.
