Renowned Australian diary company, Bulla Dairy Foods, will launch a national transport tender in mid-June when it will release a formal request for pricing.
According to the Australian Trucking Association, Bulla says submissions will close at the end of July, with contracts under the three year tender to be awarded in August. Transport providers will be required to start services in September.
The tender will be for transporting chilled and frozen dairy products to metropolitan distribution centres and regional locations. The total volume per year is estimated to be about 65,000 pallet spaces, with 18,500 in NSW and 220 in the ACT.
Transport providers will be free to submit proposals for the whole country or for individual states.
