Cargotec Australia has signed a landmark deal with UNIC Cranes to strengthen its position in the load handling market in Australia.
“The contract with UNIC further cements Cargotec Australia’s strategic objective to be the leader in the load handling market, encompassing exclusive sales and aftersales distributor rights,” the company announced in a press release.
“The company’s market prospects are stronger than ever, and this long term association with UNIC will serve to further strengthen Cargotec’s already dominant market position by adding another quality product to its lineup. UNIC complements Cargotec’s other products, creating a very comprehensive range of solutions for our customers,” Peter McLean, Vice President of Cargotec
Australia, said.
As part of the cooperative, Cargotec will work closely with UNIC to provide all the required local engineering and product support through its extensive service network. “Cargotec’s national network, including superior service and support through strategically located national branches and dealerships, gives customer’s the highest level of confidence in their investment,” Mr McLean
added.
As part of the agreement Cargotec will no longer sell or support the UNIC Mini Crawler. All sales and service queries for the Mini Crawler should now be directed to Gleason Cranes Australia in Derrimut, VIC.
According to Sam Miyazaki, Director, UNIC, the engineering and service professionalism provided by Cargotec was a major contributing factor to their decision to sign the exclusive distributor agreement with Cargotec Australia. “Cargotec’s product offering and service and engineering capabilities are an obvious fit with UNIC’S long term growth strategy.”
