Carrier Transicold has released its new Vector 8500 single-temperature hybrid trailer refrigeration unit designed to increases weight savings, fuel economy and greater refrigeration capacity.
The Vector 8500 features micro-channel coils, a sealed electric compressor, electric fans and a patented all-electric refrigeration system. The unit also incorporates Carrier Transicold’s ecoFORWARD technology, designed to boost performance while providing compliance with current international emissions laws.
According to Carrier, the Vector 8500 will result in savings across the board compared to previous models, including the unit’s weight savings of 10 per cent. The 8500 also provides up to four per cent higher cooling capacity; consumes 26 per cent less fuel over a full array of operating conditions; and reduces engine runtime by up to 14 per cent, leading to greater efficiency, durability and longevity.
