Linfox has opened the Master Control Room (MCR), a major cog at its new high-tech Hazelmere facility in Perth that opened in August 2012.
According to Linfox, the MCR delivers real-time visibility and control of resource industry customers’ supply chain operations across WA.
“The MCR’s wide-ranging capabilities will elevate customer service to new levels,” said Mark Stephenson, Linfox Control Room Project Manager.
“Real-time monitoring of our transport and warehouse operations includes despatch and arrival times and order and location updates that allow us to plan and respond quickly to events.”
“In time, we aim to create a centralised monitoring centre providing customers with immediate supply chain intelligence from around Australia.”
The high-tech centre features an interactive video display wall, electronic ‘Smartboards’, an incident response room and electronic links to road and emergency management services.
The control room will monitor the activity of vehicles fitted with Linfox’s IT systems, FoxTrax and Cooltrax. These systems will provide a comprehensive view of fleet activity and temperature updates from the vehicles to the Control Room.
The Control Room’s weather monitoring systems also allow operators to respond rapidly to road closures, adverse weather conditions and incidents.
