FreightSeek allows customers to obtain free quotes to make an informed decision about selecting the right carrier for their goods based on reviews and prices.
McNaughtans Managing Director Rodney Meaker explains that FreightSeek was developed to offer monetary savings to freight operators, and ease and convenience to those requiring freight services.
“McNaughtans wanted to put a site together that would add a new level of convenience to customers,” says Rodney. “Instead of having to phone several carriers and then having to wait for a quote, customers can receive freight quotes instantly – and all they have to do is literally take a photo and upload it onto the FreightSeek site. Freight companies looking for a load or looking for additional goods to maximise their current load by utilising empty space in their trucks, have the ability to offer a very competitive price. Transport operators are also able to ask customers any queries about the freight prior to providing a quote.
“The economy at the moment is very much focused on expenses and overheads, so people are focusing on reducing costs any way they can. FreightSeek offers a win-win for both the customer and the carrier.” All types of freight can be listed on the FreightSeek website including everything from palletised freight, freight containers and furniture, to household goods, cars, boats, horses, livestock and pets.
FreightSeek allows transport providers to bid against each other in a public online marketplace so that customers can ensure that their freight will be delivered at the best price.
Once quotes are received, customers simply hit the ‘accept’ button to confirm the deal between themselves and the carrier. To complement the FreightSeek website, McNaughtans will soon be launching another two online tools. An employment site called RUEmployed will focus on employment opportunities for those in the freight sector and will be launched in late September. A dedicated truck driver employment site will then follow.
Rodney says that this is all part of McNaughtans commitment to becoming a true one-stop shop. “McNaughtans is becoming a one-stop shop for body builders and the freight market,” he says. “We aim to provide our customers with easy access to goods and services, and in doing so, ensure we do all of the hard work for them. For body builders this is about eliminating space requirements, overheads and expenses. For freight operators, the Freightseek site works along these lines as well. With the launch of these websites, we are creating a one-stop shop that goes beyond physical products and extends into the online forum.
