Direct Couriers launches linehaul service

Transport company, Direct Couriers, is rolling out a new linehaul service between Sydney and Melbourne following substantial business growth.

The new service called Direct ROAD was introduced in January with two fully branded Direct ROAD mezzanine deck semi-trailers providing overnight service with all the technology benefits of online bookings, full GPS driver tracking, notifications and photo on pick-up and delivery.

The company plans to grow the Direct ROAD network nationally.

In November 2019, Direct Cold was launched with the purchase of Andrews Refrigerated Transport and over the past 15 months, the Direct Cold division has seen tremendous growth especially within the healthcare sector.

The fleet of vehicles has more than doubled during this time and with further expansion anticipated of the number of vehicles in all branches nationally. A critical component of the healthcare sector is to ensure the accuracy of the temperature throughout the refrigerated unit. The temperature must remain constant from the front to the back and from the top to the bottom. Regular third party testing is performed to ensure accurate data is being reported.

Direct Cold provide full visibility on all temperature controlled jobs and the Proofs of Delivery automatically display the temperature at which the consignment is delivered. The refrigerated transport division offers the same technology and service advantages as Direct Couriers.
