Krueger spearheads innovation game
- From the October 2015 issue.
Krueger Transport Equipment’s bold foray into the refrigerated transport market was one of the main talking points of the 2014-15 season. Early adopters like Sydney’s Xtra Transport Services are now putting the innovative new range to the test.
If new product releases are a sign of rising business confidence, then Krueger Transport Equipment’s launch of a new refrigerated van range at the Brisbane Truck Show in May must be considered an important turning point for Australia’s otherwise subdued heavy equipment market.
Instead of letting talk of a sluggish economy thwart its drive to innovate, the self-confident Melbourne family business sent a powerful message to the industry – the innovation engine is running at full speed again and the transport world is watching.
Since the much publicised launch in Queensland, sales for Krueger’s first-ever refrigerated van range – jointly developed with European OEM Schmitz Cargobull – have risen steadily, with many a transport business inspired by the OEM’s undeterred drive and determination.
One company that has already boarded the innovation express is NSW-based Xtra Transport Services. Founded and still managed by industry veteran Peter Parsons, it has made a name for itself as a highly flexible transport company with a strong focus on developing talent and using the latest in transport equipment – the perfect match for the ambitious Krueger/ Schmitz Cargobull pairing.
