The genuine article

For more than 40 years, Krueger Transport Equipment has refined and developed its capacity to build the most productive, innovative and hard-wearing trailers in the market. Trusted by companies big and small – from national linehaul operators to modest family businesses – Krueger provides a complete ‘one-stop shop’ for road transport businesses Australia-wide.

Krueger is a family-owned and operated business that is leading the industry with its portfolio of advanced and versatile trailing equipment solutions which are by default designed to work hard in any environment and are spec’d for smarter fleet utility.

The Victorian trailer builder’s selection of curtainsiders, or Kurtainers, feature key safety and productivity features as standard including OH&S initiatives in load restraint. Meanwhile, the curtain design that Krueger produces is lightweight, high strength and made of carbon fibre sections that are integrated into the curtain structure.

High productivity curtains drastically improve turnaround times by reducing the number curtain buckles required to operate it. In the case of a B-double, which has 68 curtain buckles, the high productivity curtains reduce that number to 26 – where each buckle is also positioned to reduce wind drag and provides appropriate weather protection. The Kurtainer range also benefits from overhead suspended load binders including right drive load binder ratchet, internal load nets for longitudinal load support and auto ratchet decks which can be raised or lowered by an individual driving the forklift (there are no saddles and it simply locks into the desired position via a self-locking lever).

Other load restraint solutions from Krueger include its award-winning Slide-A-Gate design, self-lifting gates and two-piece roof tracks. Krueger mandates all new designs are tested to ensure reliability and safety prior to launching its products.

Krueger provides transport solutions for every freight application.

The flat top and drop deck technology that Krueger brings to market ensures that operators can choose from extendable and heavy-duty variations and road train dollys.

The Krueger and Schmitz Cargobull freezer/dry vans feature the best of Australian and German engineering, available in single and B-double models. Food distribution via rear-end loading offers a large range of options while the rolling body chassis is made from the best materials available. These vans feature forklift rated floors as standard and can be fitted with a variety of optional extras from dock sensing and brake interlock to high performance suspension and manual/auto control rear roller door.

Krueger also produces ultra-low profile, high payload and reliable skeletal trailers. The 40’ skel is the most recognised workhorse in the Australian trailer market, according to the manufacturer, with thousands of its units in active service throughout Australia. The skel has been the hard-working foundation for many leading container freight operators for decades.

All of these products are engineered to be an asset and retain the best resale value.

Taking innovation even further, Krueger is well regarded by the road transport industry for analysing trailer procurement strategies and works to ensure that fleet operators make the most of their equipment investments. The team do their due diligence by tailoring trailer designs for specific freight tasks i.e. best serving the needs of both business and industry with the deployment of trailing equipment that boosts payload capacity and efficiency.

A key service offering that Krueger specialises in is Performance-Based Standards (PBS) design. Krueger’s in-house PBS team can walk fleet operators through the trailer specifications that will best serve their needs whether it be through lighter equipment for the tare weight advantages and/or ensuring truck-trailer combinations have access to the most efficient routes. PBS also enables new opportunities with ‘interchangeability’ where operators can get the most value out of their road transport assets. With PBS optimisation, according to Krueger, the productivity gains are an additional bonus.

Krueger’s PBS offering covers its entire range of trailers from container haulage to general freight. The interchangeable options that the manufacturer provides its customers with ensures maximised fleet potential where everybody wins.

To cap off its extensive value proposition, Krueger commits to a stringent manufacturing process, using state-of-the-art welding machines, rotary jigs and Australian-made high tensile steel to provide pristine final finishes (Grade 3 sandblasting and 2 pack paint work). This acute attention to detail applies to corporate branding signage and to the complete technical service and parts support delivered via Krueger’s dedicated Australia-wide network.

Fast Fact
Krueger Transport Equipment has continuously developed the company-owned Road Friendly Suspension to help fleets better manage Australia’s harsh operating conditions with gear that allows for optimal tare weight and improved equipment longevity. This suspension is backed by a solid nationwide aftersales support network.
