Major milk producer Murray Goulburn Co-operative has appointed Mr Michael Ihlein to the Board of Directors as a Special Director (non-executive). Shareholders will have an opportunity to elect Mr Ihlein at the company’s AGM on 28 November.
Mr Ihlein spent six years at Brambles Limited as an executive director with roles as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, Mr Ihlein had a 26 year career with Coca-Cola Amatil Limited including seven years as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director.
Mr Ihlein is currently a non-executive director of CSR Limited, Westfield Retail Trust, Snowy Hydro Limited and is the Chair of the Australian Theatre for Young People.
Murray Goulburn Co-operative operates its own fleet of around 170 prime movers (48 of are used in B-double configuration), employs up to 400 drivers and delivers three billion litres of milk each year. Murray Goulburn is also currently trialling some Liquefied Natural Gas powered trucks.
Murray Goulburn Co-operative Chairman, Philip Tracy, welcomed Mr Ihlein’s appointment to the Board. “We are delighted to have attracted a special director of Mike’s calibre to MG.
