Freighter unveiled the company’s new, patent pending AutoHold curtain. “The beauty of the AutoHold design is in its simplicity as it eliminates the need for not just conventional buckles and straps, but also the gates,” says Rod Cunningham, General Manager of Freighter.
The vertical locking, unlocking and release of the curtain is completely automatic via a simple push button control – “and because the load restraint system is built into the curtain, gates are unnecessary in most cases,” says Rod. “With no more undoing and doing up buckles and hauling heavy gates on and off the trailer – it really is the answer to every truck driver’s dream.”
Freighter AutoHold is the latest development in Freighter’s family of load restraint solutions and has been certified to meet the NTC Load Restraint Guidelines for a unitised load of 1,250kg per pallet space. Even higher loads are potentially available on a case specific approval basis. The AutoHold is currently in the final stages of an extensive prototype program and will be available for sale later in 2011.
Demonstrating the company’s skeletal trailer manufacturing versatility, Freighter also showcased a customised skel B-double featuring a retractable tag skel and a roll back lead skel trailer which have been built for Queensland based operator, Rogers Transport. “Freighter’s range of retractable, roll back and low tare weight skeletal trailers is helping to fill a void in the market and meet demand from customers for flexible container transport solutions,” says Rod.
