Victorian trailer builder, Genuine Truck Bodies (GTB) is now an official member of the Refrigerated Warehouse and Transport Association of Australia (RWTA).
The RWTA represents both the warehousing and transport sectors involved in the storage, distribution and transportation of temperature controlled products in Australia’s Cold Chain market.
According to GTB General Manager, Les Lange, joining RWTA will enhance its operations going forward. “Being a member of RWTA means we’ll be kept up-to-date with all the latest technology in the cold chain sector, broadening our knowledge bank and seeing our customers are doing. In turn, RWTA will help promote the GTB brand to the wider transport market.”
Upon joining the association in July, GTB also invited RWTA members to inspect its Dandenong South-based manufacturing plant and latest products. The group included representatives from Oxford Cold Storage, the APS Group, Stow Australia, Crown Equipment, Simplot, Patties Foods, Montague Cold Storage, Toyota Materials Handling, Rand Transport and Swire Cold Storage.
RWTA Victorian Division Chairman, Greg Lucas added, “As a committee we don’t do many factory tours and this has been a great opportunity to come out and see what they do. The facility is just massive. It’s huge. There’s a happy staff doing what they do very well and taking pride in it.”
Meanwhile, Shane Moloughney, Managing Director at Swire Cold Storage, said he was impressed by the scale of GTB’s operation. “I didn’t know a lot about GTB, but I was impressed to see the breadth of service that it offers and the adoption of real professionalism right through the business,” he said. “You can see it’s a growing business both by the investments that have been made and by the way the people here approach their various tasks.”
