Hi-Quality Heavy Haulage – part of the Hi-Quality Group – recently modernised its fleet with new Drake trailing equipment to strengthen its over-dimensional and specialised transport capabilities.
The latest trailers to join the fleet include a 2×4 dolly and 4×4 full widener.
Hi-Quality services a range of sectors including mining, earth moving, oil & gas, renewable energy, engineering, heavy manufacturing, civil construction and infrastructure.
The full widener has a 13m deck length, a drop deck, hydraulic suspension and double acting suspension ramps.
Hi-Quality Group Heavy Haulage Business Development Manager, Mitchell Gregory, said they spec’d the trailer up to be very versatile.
“It’s something that we set up to give us the best of everything,” he said.
Its features include bifold ramps which provide better ramp over angles for lower profile machines, a hydraulic neck which is used for self-loading vehicles and makes hooking them up easier and drop well deck which reduces overall travel height for higher loads.
It also features double acting suspension rams which make it easier to pick up axles for empty travel and changing tyres, and an auto greaser.
“It has auto greaser on it, to keep all the moving parts greased because that can be a challenge sometimes with operators to get in and grease them manually,” said Gregory.
Gregory said the trailer has added additional capabilities, as it has allowed operations to run a lot smoother than before.
“It certainly has helped us put the right equipment on the right jobs, instead of running bigger equipment that could be better utilised in other parts of the business,” he said.
Gregory said Hi-Quality strives to provide its customers with outstanding high-quality service.
“What we really try to push for here, like the name ‘Hi-Quality’, we try and offer a really high quality service,” he said.
“And that comes from our safety, our compliance, the quality and presentation of our equipment, our operators and their attitudes and delivering on what we promised to our customers.
“The equipment is so important, and the way that it is presented is everything. We continuously get really good feedback about how our guys conduct themselves and how they look after our customers equipment.”
Gregory said Drake has a brilliant reputation in the industry because they’ve been around for such a long time.
“They back their products, and with the guys we deal with, we understand each other’s expectations and requirements,” he said.
“They’ve been a good partner with our business, that’s for sure.”
