After 34 years of dedicated and loyal service to Powauto, Steve Beckett has decided to hang up his gloves and retire.
Steve joined Powauto in 1978 and, according to Powauto’s Nik Alpert, has made “an enormous, unquantifiable” contribution to the business and the transport industry at large.
“Steve is one of the true gentlemen in transport hydraulics, well known, highly respected, sometimes referred to as somewhat of a legend. When Steve looks back at his career, and the contribution he has made, he can certainly do so with great pride.”
But, retirement for Steve does not mean slowing down, not by any means. Steve has a passionate love for travel, and he’s already got the next few years of his next adventure all planned out and can’t wait to get going.
“Steve, the team at Powauto wish you many, many years of health & happiness as you move onto the next adventure in your life. May your travels take you to many exotic and wonderful places, and wherever you end up, please remember that there will always be a Powauto office somewhere nearby, so stop in and say hi to some old friends,” said Nik.
Michael Applebee has been appointed to Product Manager at Powauto, replacing Steve. Michael started his career in the transport industry in 1995 and later joined renowned South Australian Body Builder and Powauto Distributor, Barry Stoodley. Michael managed Barry Stoodley’s branch, specialising in specifying and fitting hydraulics and Powauto products.
In 2009, Michael decided to move to Sydney where he took up the Management of Pawauto’s Narellan sales and service branch.
“We wish Michael all the best in his new position as Product Manager and Steve many years of health and happiness in retirement,” said Nik.
