Kockums Industries, a long-established manufacturer of dry bulk pneumatic tankers, is currently looking for a new General Manager to lead the Australian-owned brand into the future.
“To lead the business through a further phase of growth and development, we seek a dynamic General Manager,” says John Maslen, a Finance Consultant who is charged with finding the ideal candidate.
“We are looking for someone with mechanical Engineering qualifications, preferably with a background in road transport equipment and/or pressure vessels; as well advanced manufacturing experience. Ideally, the new GM will have a strong kaizen focus and lean manufacturing disciplines, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills and internal and external relationships.
“Kockums is expecting someone who is customer driven and willing to travel as required. The candidate must have national marketing abilities and acute manufacturing skills, and also be commercially astute. Finally, he or she must be demonstrating a sound working knowledge in business administration, including current legislative constraints.”
According to John, this position will have direct control over a small but highly skilled and devoted team and will report to the board of directors. “An attractive results-based remuneration package will be negotiated.”
Kockums' products are used extensively in road haulage and mining applications across the country, as well as in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. The company's manufacturing facility is located in Campbellfield, just north of Melbourne.
