A custom-built refrigerated truck body gives a business control over one of the most important assets in its cold chain.

Instead of making do with a standard vehicle, the body can be built around the work it needs to perform every day.

Temperature range, pallet capacity, door layout, tail-lift setup, internal protection, load restraint, standby power, branding and service access all affect how well a refrigerated truck performs in real operation.

When these details are considered from the start, the result is a vehicle that works better for the driver, the customer and the business.

Australian-made refrigerated bodies offer another clear advantage – durability in local conditions.

Australian roads, heat, loading environments and transport demands can be tough on equipment. A locally built body can be specified with those conditions in mind, with practical support available from people who understand the operating environment.

For businesses planning to keep an asset long term, that can make a real difference to reliability, presentation and whole-of-life value.

A quality refrigerated body is not just a box on the back of a truck, but a part of the customer’s delivery performance, brand image and cold-chain reliability. Built properly and maintained well, it can continue to look professional and perform strongly for many years.

For businesses needing refrigerated transport capacity quickly, long-term leasing can be a sensible option. It can reduce upfront capital outlay, provide predictable monthly costs and help operators respond when demand changes, a new contract begins or extra fleet capacity is needed.

According to Cooler Director, Mark Carter, where the application is standard, or the requirement is tied to a fixed-term contract, leasing may be the right commercial pathway.

“The right refrigerated truck depends heavily on how it will be used,” he said.

“A vehicle that looks suitable on paper may not be ideal once route conditions, loading methods, temperature requirements, branding, driver usability and long-term durability are considered.

“The better question is not simply whether to lease or build. It is which option gives the business the right operational fit, the right level of control and the best value over the life of the asset.”

Cooler can help with both. Whether you are looking at lease options, a custom Australian-made refrigerated body or a comparison of whole-of-life costs, its team can help you work through the options and choose a solution that suits your operation.

Speak with Cooler about lease and special-build options, tailored to your business.
