Instant grass turf specialists, Lilydale Instant Lawn, has added a new group of M8 Moffett truck-mounted forklifts to its fleet courtesy of Hiab Australia.
According to Managing Director, Garry Lusk, the M8’s are working in tandem with its six semi-trailers used to delivery instant grass turf to suburban homes, sporting facilities and council sites around Victoria.
“We have a diversified range of customers, each one with a different set of requirements such as the variance in conditions, delivery addresses, terrain and access,” he said.
“The M8’s have a remote mount system allowing the operator to mount and dismount the forklift from the truck while standing on the ground making it OH&S friendly. More importantly, the M8 can be used in every terrain and is capable of lifting up two to three tonnes of turf at a time.”
The M8 Moffett truck-mounted forklifts feature a multi-dimensional, four-way system. This means that the front wheels can be turned 90 degrees and the forklift can manoeuvre left or right, as well as forwards and backwards. The feature enables the forklift to travel sideways when handling long loads and can also negotiate tight access areas or narrow openings.
