With online shopping becoming more common, Linfox, in conjunction with supermarket chain Woolworths, is bolstering its seven-days-a-week parcel fleet to deliver convenient online shopping to customers’ doors.
According to Linfox, the company’s Woolworths vehicle fleet has grown by nearly 30 per cent in the last two years, demonstrating the boom in online shopping.
“The home delivery service is popular in regional and metropolitan areas,” said Linfox’s National Manager Retail, Matt Sheridan. “Our 3.5 tonne vehicles are nimble enough to access all locations. And they are refrigerated and carry a freezer to ensure products are delivered in fresh condition.”
The Woolworths Online service operates on a store-based picking model to ensure optimum vehicle utilisation and delivery times, with 21 Victorian stores and 30 stores across New South Wales supplying home deliveries.
Currently, Linfox manages a delivery fleet of more than 110 trucks to service convenience-conscious Woolworths’ shoppers across New South Wales and Victoria.
