Transport and logistics company Linfox will join in celebrating today’s World Environment Day, having recently been recognised in the ‘Sustainable Australia Report’ by the National Sustainability Council.
“It’s impressive that Linfox is recognised at this national governmental level as valuing sustainability so highly,” said Andrew Niven, Linfox Group Manager Safety & Sustainability.
The report highlighted that Linfox had reduced carbon emissions by 42 per cent through improved business practices, better technologies and the behaviour of employees.
“We are continuing our work to achieve a 50 per cent reduction in our rate of carbon dioxide emissions. We are very proud to have almost reached this target,” Linfox CEO Michael Byrne added.
Byrne credited the company’s continued to focus on improving the major areas including eco driving, vehicle optimisation, supply chain optimisation, electrical efficiency and aerodynamic vehicle design.
