Linfox launches new IT solution

Linfox has launched an IT solution to increase the accuracy of forecasting and planning transport services. OptiFox is an integrated tool providing accurate planning for Linfox’s transportation requirements, upstream visibility for warehousing operations and up-to-date store arrival information for customers.

Linfox President Retail, Nick Capp says that high quality forecasts are essential for resource planning accuracy and better cost management for complex retail delivery networks. “OptiFox integrates with customers’ DC planning and Linfox’s own transport management systems.”

“We now work with our customers to boost the accuracy of forecasts which are based on close analysis of past volumes at equivalent times and customer data on trends and special circumstances.

“OptiFox is integrated online with all operating systems and produces forecasts that our customers now also rely on for their own operations. It has improved forecasting accuracy by at least 25 per cent and we continue to build accuracy. It has also reduced driving hours and kilometres travelled by between five to seven per cent for most operations.”
