Linfox’s LeanFox program, designed to boost “continuous improvement” throughout the corporation, is now rolling out across the company's Asia Pacific operations. The program was set up to encourage Linfox's employees to recognise waste within processes and increase efficiency within the business.
Two nominees, Cecilia Chan, Linfox's National Projects Implementations Manager in Vietnam, and Wendy Mallowes, National Inventory & Process Manager in New Zealand, had a Six Sigma 'Greenbelt' training in Australia recently.
According to Linfox, they will later be involved in the LeanFox Mentor Development program, before introducing LeanFox in Vietnam and New Zealand.
In 2012, Linfox and Mars began the LeanFox Project to reduce the time it took for the ‘raws shuttle’ to supply the factory with raw ingredients and remove finished goods. Since then, the ‘raws shuttle’ has increased its ‘on time’ performance from 60 per cent to 98 per cent, said Mars LeanFox Project Leader, Brian Roberts.
“With Linfox and Mars working together on this project, we delivered a result that people thought was impossible. We are now planning to take on many more improvements in our operation.”
