Lusty EMS is now incorporating DataDotDNA® into its tipper manufacturing, helping transport operators to keep their trailers safe from theft.
DataDotDNA® is a cost effective security identification system designed to protect equipment from potential thieves. It is comprised on tiny microscopic discs, called DataDots, containing unique information that is linked to the equipment and operator.
“DataDots are as small as a grain of sand and literally thousands of DataDots are easily sprayed or brushed onto various locations underneath and within the trailer,” explained National Sales and Marketing Manager for Lusty EMS, Rick Child.
As each DataDot contains a unique code that is stored on a secure national database that is accessible to police, they greatly assist with the recovery of stolen machinery.
To add, DataDots do not affect the quality of the machinery’s finish. “DataDots are virtually invisible to the naked eye and can only be identified by a UV light and magnifying glass. Because they are located in a number of areas on the trailer, it is virtually impossible to remove all the DataDots,” said Mr Child. “It’d be a brave thief who would try to on-sell a trailer and its parts without fear of being caught.”
Warning stickers are also placed on the trailer to act as a further deterrent to would-be thieves.
