Mactrans and Drake to auction a Drake Collectibles K200 Swingwing combination

The Drake Group and one of its loyal customers Mactrans Heavy Haulage have joined forces to further awareness of the important work being done by White Ribbon Australia in a bid to eliminate domestic violence in this country.

In 2019, Mactrans owners Mussy and Yasmin Deen purchased a new Kenworth K200 prime mover which carries a strong message: ‘Stop Violence Against Women’.

The murals on the truck – emblazoned on both sides as well as the rear of the cab – incorporate White Ribbon Australia’s logo.

Drake Collectibles, a division of The Drake Group, is releasing a series of 1/50 scale diecast replicas of the vehicle. Each unit will be supplied with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

“To support such a worthy cause, Drake Collectibles and Mactrans will be auctioning the first Kenworth K200 truck replica, with certificate of authenticity Number 1 of 750, made complete with a Drake Trailers 5×8 Swingwing and 2×8 Dolly combination, mounted in a 60cm long Perspex display case,” said Marketing Coordinator at The Drake Group, Peta Albion.

“All the proceeds from the auction will be donated to White Ribbon Australia.”

The winning bidder will also receive merchandise packs from The Drake Group and Mactrans Heavy Haulage, each containing such goodies as branded caps, beanies, bottle openers and stubby coolers.

In the past, Ms Albion explained, Drake Collectibles replicas with certificate Number 1 have proven to be very desirable additions to diecast vehicle collections all over the world, and have raised considerable awareness and funds for the charities and foundations they represent.

Yasmin Deen and Manager at Drake Collectibles, Bruce Hay, will officially launch the campaign at Mactrans Headquarters on Friday March 18; the auction will run for seven days, finishing on Friday March 25.

In support, Grays Online has offered to auction the model combination at no cost and will be also marketing it via social media advertising.

“Given the nature of our industry, we hope to attract strong private and corporate bids,” said Ms Albion.

“For those who miss out on the winning bid, we are expecting the remaining 749 scale model Mactrans K200 prime movers to be available for purchase in late April this year.”
